WELCOME · EDITION #002 · SUNDAY
👋 Hello, New York parents.
This week, NYC is shifting gears. Halloween is behind us, the clocks have changed, the Marathon is taking over the streets on Sunday, and the school calendar has a midweek surprise in store.
Here's your week, in one short email. The full weekend guide is waiting on our website.
And if you're reading this from the beginning, thank you for being here. We're just getting started.

What’s new this week
Tuesday Nov 3 – Election Day, school remote, not a day off.
For you: Don’t plan it as a day off. A daytime outing has to fit around remote classes.
Thursday Nov 5 – Elementary / Pre-K conferences, 3-hour early dismissal.
For you: That afternoon is genuinely free – The free 2–5pm window at Brooklyn Children’s Museum could fit nicely; book conference slots early.

A Little NYC History.
NYC’S FREEDOM TOWER · LOWER MANHATTAN
1,776 feet. It’s not a coincidence.
One World Trade Center wears American history in its height.
That exact 1,776-foot height wasn’t a coincidence. It was chosen to echo 1776 — the year the Declaration of Independence was signed.
One World Trade Center opened on November 3, 2014, where the anniversary falls right in the middle of our issue week. Next time you spot the tower in your city stroll, you’ll know the number is doing more than reaching for the clouds.
285 FULTON STREET · LOWER MANHATTAN

🗳 Poll of the week
Which plan from this week will you do with your kids?
💡 Tip of the week
This is the first week when “after school” means “after dark.” Add a warm layer under the jacket and maybe something reflective to every child's evening walk.
